Many of us feel like we are not in control of our lives. We get stressed, anxious, and then panicked about the things that may happen to us in the future. What if something bad happens? Will I make it through this crisis moment? The answer is yes! Breathe, take a step back and do what you can to calm your inner demons. Take some deep breaths, exercise, or meditate until you find peace again.

Inner demons are those thoughts and feelings that tell you the world is a scary place with no control over your life. Inner Demons will say things like “what if X happened?” or “you’re going to fail”.

There are a few steps you can take to calm these demons:

Take a step back from the situation

When you are stressed, anxious, or panicked about something, it is helpful to visualize yourself stepping back from the situation. When we panic, our imagination runs wild and creates all sorts of horrible scenarios in our mind’s eye. So when these thoughts start creeping into your head take a moment to imagine that you’re watching this scenario happen on TV. Are you still feeling scared? No, because it’s not happening to you; someone else is dealing with those issues and you can watch from a distance. You’ll feel better if you can step back and take control of your thoughts again.

You may need to do this several times before the situation feels under control but eventually, these demons will stop haunting you.

Breathe

Sometimes, just taking a deep breath can have an immediate effect on these negative emotions. Breathing slowly and deeply calms our nervous system down which helps us feel better both physically and emotionally because it gives your body time to relax after feeling so anxious or panicked earlier. Doing this regularly will help you calm down your nervous system and your body will thank you for it.

Take a walk

Sometimes these demons follow us everywhere we go so it can be helpful to get out of the situation for a few minutes and breathe in some fresh air. Taking long walks is an excellent way to calm down after feeling particularly stressed, anxious, or panicked. It may take you 20 minutes to calm down but that’s okay because it will help you get through the next few hours without feeling like your demons are rearing their ugly heads again.

Meditate

Although meditation can be a challenge to begin, finding peace within yourself is worth the effort! Meditation helps us release negative thoughts from our brain so that we feel better mentally as well as physically. In addition, if you’re able to keep up with this practice, meditation can help you become more present and in tune with yourself so that you don’t get taken over by your inner demons.

There are many ways to calm your inner demons, but they all start with you! Remember that it’s okay to take some time for yourself so that you can get back on track and feel centered again. Breathe in positive thoughts and breathe out negative ones; don’t let them overtake who you are as a person because no matter what happens, you will get through it!

Exercise

Working out is a great way to release the stress from our bodies, relieve anxiety, and feel better overall! Endorphins released while we exercise make us feel happy which helps us avoid getting overwhelmed with negative feelings. You can also distract yourself with physical activity so that you don’t have time to think about anything else. With the right mindset, exercise can be a great way to get your mind off of these inner demons when you’re feeling particularly stressed or panicked.

Remember, it is important not to let your inner demons take over your life. Learning how to calm these thoughts and emotions will help you maintain peace of mind during difficult times in your life instead of feeling stressed or panicked.

Get your mind right and put bad thoughts to rest with my short poem…

🎶🎹 There are seven demons in my head🎼🎻

Trying to take over my brain

But I know I am more powerful than they are

If I can calm down and face them

I can win this fight.

This is the last stand

I am not going down without a fight!

No demons will take over my mind

I am the hero of this story

And I will defeat them once and for all!

With a deep breath, I know what to do:

Calm my mind and focus on myself.

Don’t let your demons control you; take control over your thoughts instead by taking some time out of each day to relax and breathe deeply.

Don’t let your demons control you; take a walk, exercise, or meditate to distract yourself from these thoughts. Letting them sit does more harm than good! It is important not to give in to the stress and panic as this will only make it worse. Try taking some time out of each day to relax instead so that you can get back on track with your life.

Remember, you are the hero of this story! Defeat your demons and live a more peaceful life by simply calming down and focusing on yourself instead of letting them control you. You have all the power to defeat these thoughts so don’t give up hope yet! With some time out for yourself each day, you can get back on track with your life and maintain peace of mind during difficult times.
